"My earliest recollections are of being a writer. It's part of my definition."

After college, Karen Heckler went to work in New York City in Public Relations & later worked for CBS. When she moved to Los Angeles, she enjoyed an over 15 year career in TV & Film, working at almost every major studio.

The "Hole In My Hat" series was begun for her nephews as a positive alternative to school book assignments. The vivid imagery of "Hole In My Hat" allows a child's imagination to soar.

"The series permits an older child to explore fantasy without exposure to witchcraft, spiritualist undertones & other staples of current literature. Through humor, the reader also learns many positive life lessons."

Karen Heckler is active in the Christian ministry and involved with animal rescue & adoption. She resides in a Los Angeles historical monument, where she loves to garden with her dog Mia and a small pride of cats.
